Joyce Arthur is the Founder and CEO of the Araba Foundation, the Founder of Jocify Hub, a Master’s student in International Education Policy at the University of Maryland in the United States, a 2024 UNFPA Youth Leader Fellow, and a 2021 Young Innovative Leaders Fellow. Joyce was a 2025 World Bank Youth Summit Delegate and an ECOSOC Youth Forum Delegate. She currently serves on 3 Youth Advisory boards. She is also the Host and producer of the Bold Conversations with Joyce Podcast.
Joyce's passion and work promote girls’ education, rural access to quality learning, gender equality, and youth empowerment across Africa. She actively engaged in high-level global platforms to champion these causes.
At the 69th Commission on the Status of Women at the United Nations Headquarters, she shared insights on the state of Gender-Based Violence in Ghana and called for accelerated action to reduce its prevalence. She also participated in the Comparative and International Education Society's 2025 Conference, exploring how Artificial Intelligence can shape the future of education and development.
She represented Ghana at The Future We Want Model UN and the Future Diplomat Forum in Washington, D.C., where she contributed to key discussions on youth leadership and multilateral cooperation.
Her commitment to youth advocacy earned me a spot at the 2025 ECOSOC Youth Forum and the 2025 World Bank Youth Summit, where she championed meaningful youth engagement in decision-making processes. In 2023, she was selected as a Youth Leader Fellow with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Ghana, where she received training and also represented the youth voice at High-level events.
Currently, Joyce serves on 3 Advisory Boards: the Graduate Student Advisory Board at the University of Maryland in the United States, the CMF Africa Foundation Advisory Board in Eswatini, and the Youth Human Rights Hub Board at the Youth Centre for Dialogue and Peace in Geneva. In these roles, she helps shape youth-centered policies and co-create programs that promote youth empowerment.
To advance girls’ education, Joyce founded the JARAB( Now rebranded as Araba) Foundation, empowering over 1000 school-going adolescents in Ghana to achieve self-efficacy through peer mentorship. She has led back-to-school donation drives and conducted menstrual hygiene sensitization programs to help rural girls stay in school.
Joyce has also collaborated with CAMFED Ghana, Plan International Ghana, and the Planned Parenthood Association of Ghana to promote girls’ education by raising awareness and inspiring young girls through public speaking engagements.
As an advocate for gender equality, I worked with NETRIGHT and WiLDAF Ghana to advance women’s rights. During the National Coalition meeting to expedite the passage of the Affirmative Action Bill for Gender Equality in Ghana, she represented young women leaders and presented a proposal to the Government of Ghana, contributing to the historic passage of the bill into law in 2024 after decades of advocacy.
