According to UNICEF, over 79 million girls in Sub-Saharan Africa were sexually abused before the age of 18, and the number is even higher when we include boys who are silenced by culture, shame, and fear.
Child sexual abuse destroys lives, physically, emotionally, mentally, and academically. Many survivors struggle with depression, anxiety, PTSD, shame, self-blame, low self-esteem, school dropout, and in some cases, death.
